Apple recently released its new MacBook Air, which is to me a failure as an ultra portable laptop. But even though it didn’t manage to achieve greatly as an ultra portable laptop, the engineering feat that it achieved is unbelievably great. The 13 inch laptop produced by Apple is only 19.4mm thick or you might say “thin”, and claimed the title as the “World’s thinnest notebook”, but not the lightest or the smallest. Like any other product from Apple, the design is beautiful. But to achieve the current state, some devices has to be sacrificed in order to achieve the size. The notebook comes with no built in optical drive, FireWire, Ethernet or mobile broadband. Apple at this point still refuse to put in a card reader and expansion card slot into any of their notebooks.
